For far too many months I have found myself avoiding music, especially certain kinds of classical piano. It's my weakness. It brings out a piece of my heart deep in the shadows of the lonely crevices of my cautious soul that overwhelms me with a flood of emotions I'm not sure I want to experience. It can sometimes be too powerful for me. It's such a balancing act for me sometimes...to both grow my heart and protect it. To open my soul to soar just slightly above the waves of the ocean of hope and mystery and hear its magnificent crash, feel its startling cold spray of awakening, and smell and taste its saltiness of arousal but not get sucked into its dark, enormous, mystical depths.
